FitDesk frequently asked questions

FitDesk is free all-in-one software for personal trainers and coaches. Trainers pay no subscription, clients pay nothing at all, and the only charge is a 1% platform service fee on card payments taken through the app.

Pricing and account

Is FitDesk really free for personal trainers?
Yes. FitDesk is free for trainers: no monthly subscription, no client limit and no card required to create an account. We keep it free because mainstream PT platforms keep raising prices and moving standard tools into paid add-ons, which pushes up a trainer's running costs.
Do my clients have to pay for FitDesk?
No. Client accounts are free forever. Clients only ever pay you for sessions, packages or memberships.
What does FitDesk charge on payments?
FitDesk takes a 1% platform service fee on card transactions processed through the app, in addition to Stripe's own processing fees. There is nothing else to pay.
Do I need to sign a contract?
No. There is no contract and no minimum term. You can export your data or delete your account at any time.

Payments and invoicing

How do trainers get paid through FitDesk?
You connect your own Stripe account in one click. Clients pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the money settles directly into your own bank account on Stripe's normal payout schedule. FitDesk never holds your funds.
Can I send invoices by email?
Yes. You can raise an invoice for a session, a package or a custom amount, and FitDesk emails the client a one-tap payment link. Paid session packages automatically top up the client's remaining credits.
What happens to credits if a session is cancelled?
Cancelling a session that was paid from a package returns the credit to the client automatically, so their remaining sessions stay accurate.

Training and programming

Can I build reusable workout templates?
Yes. Build a programme once, assign it to as many clients as you like, and any change you make to the template updates every client plan and scheduled session linked to it.
Can I add my own exercises?
Yes. Trainers can create, edit and delete their own custom exercises, and those exercises appear in the library their clients see.
Can clients log their own workouts?
Yes. Clients log sets, reps and weights as they train, can create their own workouts, and can edit a completed workout afterwards if something was recorded wrongly.
Does FitDesk track progress and personal bests?
Yes. Weight, body measurements, progress photos and exercise personal bests are tracked over time, and PBs are collected in a trophy room the client can see.

Scheduling and clients

Can clients book themselves in?
Yes. You publish your availability and session types, and clients book from your scheduler. Everyone gets email reminders, and double bookings are blocked.
Does FitDesk handle group sessions and online coaching?
Yes. One-to-one sessions, group classes and online video sessions all sit in the same calendar.
Can I message clients in the app?
Yes. In-app messaging supports attachments and sends email notifications, so client conversations stay out of your personal WhatsApp.

Switching, apps and data

Can I switch from another PT app?
Yes. You can bring across your client list and start sending workouts and invoices the same day. Most trainers are set up in under 10 minutes.
Is there a mobile app?
FitDesk is a responsive web app that works great in any mobile browser on iOS or Android. A native installable app is on the roadmap, but not available yet.
How is my client data protected?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, accounts support two-factor authentication, access is role-based so trainers only ever see their own clients, and full GDPR export and deletion are available on request.
