What clients can do in FitDesk
Book, cancel and pay
Clients book sessions into the times you've made available, get an email confirmation and can cancel from their own account. Before they cancel, they see your cancellation rules. They pay by card through your own Stripe account, either for a session package or an invoice you email them, and when they buy a package, their session credits are added as soon as Stripe confirms the payment.
Follow their workouts
Clients see the programme you assign them, with demo videos from the exercise library and your form cues and coaching notes. Any custom exercises you create also show up in the library they see.
Log their own training
Clients log sets, reps and weights as they train. They can create their own workouts and edit a completed workout afterwards if something was recorded wrongly.
See their progress
Weight, body measurements, progress photos and exercise PBs are tracked over time, and PBs are collected in a trophy room the client can see. Habit streaks and milestones keep clients motivated too.
Habits and check ins
Daily habits and weekly check ins keep clients on track between sessions, and you can add your own questions with custom forms. You can also use intake forms and run challenges. Ideas are in fitness challenge ideas for personal trainers.
Message their trainer
In app messaging supports attachments and sends email notifications, so client conversations stay out of your personal WhatsApp. Clients can play voice notes you send them in the web app, and you can share links to files in a chat.
Client app for PTs, with your branding inside the FitDesk app
Your logo and brand colours show on every signed in screen of the FitDesk app, so clients see your business while they use it. Public pages, invites, payment pages, invoice PDFs and emails use standard FitDesk styling. It is not a separate app listed under your name in the app stores. Clients use FitDesk itself.
Free for clients to use
Clients can use FitDesk without charge, and the only money they pay is what they pay you for sessions and packages. There's no monthly fee for you either, and no cap on how many clients you add.
No monthly fee. 0.7% on Stripe card payments through FitDesk, minimum 1p per card payment. Stripe's own fees still apply. Cash has no FitDesk fee.
On their phone today, apps on the way
FitDesk is a web app that works in any mobile browser on iPhone and Android, so clients can use it on their phone now without downloading anything. Clients can add FitDesk to their home screen from the browser, so it opens like an app. The web app doesn't send push notifications, so session reminders and message alerts arrive by email. Native iOS and Android apps are on the way.
Who can use it
Clients need to be 16 or over. They join from your reusable invite link, and you can add clients in bulk if you are moving from another app. There's no public booking page, so people you haven't invited can't book into your diary.
Client data, handled with care
FitDesk is built with UK GDPR in mind and publishes its privacy policy, data processing agreement and data protection impact assessment. Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored on encrypted disks. Card numbers never touch FitDesk servers, because Stripe handles them. Clients can download their account data or delete their account at any time. For more on looking after client health data, read the personal trainer GDPR guide.
What you get on the trainer side
The client app connects to your trainer dashboard, so everything clients do shows up there:
- Today's sessions, revenue and arrears at a glance
- A shared calendar with repeat weekly bookings (see the personal trainer calendar app)
- A plan builder with templates and supersets
- Client records with notes, history and lapsed client alerts
- Stripe payouts and earnings reports
- An AI assistant to draft messages and chase invoices
The full list is on personal trainer software for UK PTs. Pricing is in the pricing section. If you are still comparing, read personal trainer software UK compared or how UK personal trainers get paid faster.
